Photography, water reflection. A genuine water reflection, which I converted to black and white from original color photograph. Apart from dust removal only minor adjustments have been made. This is one of my earlier ones. I always found water reflections fascinating, the constant movement of water and light ensure that every image is unique and add a feeling of transiency. This is one of my earlier ones. Limited signed edition of 7 in black and white and 5 in color. This one is number 1/7. Ciclee print on fine art Baryta, signed and numbered on back with a 5 mm border added to make mounting easier. Other medium and mounting options are available on request.

"Photography took me on a journey and just wouldn't let me go and it became a bit of an obsession. I believe one has to follow ones heart in photography. It should be a free exploration of anything that catches ones attention. As my journey is taking me to very different places I decided to split myself into two: Katja Lichtermeer is the artist and Katja Heber is an editorial and set photographer (just dispel any confusion). Katja Lichtermeer's inspiration comes mainly from her immediate environment, experiences and encounters and feature various subjects and situations. She uses photography to comment on the human condition. Topics she touched on include impermanence, uncertainty, showing mundane detail in a new light and catching fleeting moments to give them some appreciation. She has been located mostly in London. Further influences come from film, art, philosophy, and of course, photography. One of her themes consists of finding images that naturally occur within our modern- day city environment that are reminiscent of great masters or art movements. Initially she rarely chose to digitally alter images but she has started to experiment with photomontage and the manipulation of images. And she has also started painting and shooting videos. Katja Lichtermeer was born in Germany, but London has been her home for most of her life. All art on this site is copyrighted.
