Totems I.II is from the Totem series and is a set of three fine art prints created from an original light art work. The Totem series uses traditional sculpting techniques, organic materials and technology; creating a balance between these conflicting entities. By using the word Totem, the artist creates a spiritual reference fusing the idea of a natural emblem with geometry and creating these monuments for our times. They serve to highlight our connection to one another, technology and the digital world that we find ourselves in today. Looking towards the future and what the possibilities of this hybrid nature could be. Print details: Limited edition of 100. Dimensions: 49 x 39 x 1.5cm (each) Printed on Hahnemühle Pearl® Museum-grade Fine Art Giclée paper. Framed in dark & natural wood with Artglass, premium anti-reflective glass. Unframed prints are also available for sale. Please contact the artist to enquire: aphra@aphrashemza.com - prices start from £98. About Aphra Shemza: Aphra Shemza is a UK-based multimedia artist. She is the granddaughter of the well-known abstract painter Anwar Jalal Shemza. Inspired by her grandfather, her work explores Modernism, her Islamic cultural heritage, sustainable practice and creating art for all. As an artist and activist, she finds ambitious ways to fuse methodologies from the past with new innovations in technology to imagine what the role of art could be in the future. Commissions: Canary Wharf Group, Champagne Louis Roederer, Save the Children & Morley College. Exhibitions: V&A, British Council, Ars Electronica & Winter Light Festival. Talks: Tate Britain, Courtauld Institute, National Gallery and British Library.
