Doubloon Limited Edition №1 - Limited Edition 1 of 10 Print

This price was developed as part of Insley & Nash's Doubloon collection. This series of work highlights the craft of traditional screen printing in it’s most basic elements in order to show the true essence of the craftsmanship process. Emotive brush strokes are painted onto transparent films with thick opaque ink. These analogue forms are then exposed directly onto screens ready for printing. The process of transforming the analogue artwork on to a screen means the artwork goes through a ‘bitmap’ or binary process. Commercially, artworks are digitized and converted before being printed to ensure uniformity between the original artwork and the final print. The print explores the development of the artwork from conception to final piece, the movement from one to state to another. The visual aesthetic and craftsmanship inform and inspire the pieces so that form and function are fully symbiotic. It is both scientific and precise as well as being full of expression and immeasurable.
