In 1926 the locomotive, called the General, plunged into the Row river in Oregon during the filming of a Buster Keaton movie. In the movie the train was stolen by Union spies and set on fire. The train scene on the bridge is the most expensive scene in silent film history cashing out at $42,000 in 1926 dollars. Manipulating extensive digital information and creating this collage through multiple layers of visual content, this limited edition print was exclusively created with archival materials and printed on sugar cane paper. Each print in the edition was hand rendered, printed and signed by the artist. This print features an interesting textural effect with subtle background imagery consistent with the train theme. The intention was to preserve a historical event and simultaneously transcend the tragic nature of the event by creating a contemprary, aesthetically pleasing and original work of art. Digital printmaking avoids the environmentally hazardous materials used in the past for creating a print. The print is intentionally unframed to allow for your personal framing taste, although mats and frames can be requested and included at additional cost.

Thank you for viewing my artwork. I primarily work in the genre of abstraction in the mediums of acrylic on canvas, and limited edition prints on archival papers and metals. My work has been privately critiqued in the studio by world class critics offering their expert view and I have painted with the best at Emma Lake and Triangle workshops. I value aesthetic experience as a vehicle of inspiration and something unique to the human race. Consequently, my purpose is to increase its magnitude through the practice of art. In my work I am usually searching for the mystery that's there before a piece becomes something and tells you everything about itself.
