My work deals with iconic subjects and objects: what they are, what they mean. I want to challenge accepted interpretations, open people's eyes, maybe ruffle some feathers. My process is transformative, taking an ordinary object and making it extra-ordinary, often through the lens of gender, sexuality, and mortality.

At the same time I want my pieces to be beautiful and at home in the world, or at least at home in their own world.
