Lani Rice

A self taught artist who moved to Melbourne, Australia
years ago.
Having spent her early years drawing, replicating still life,
photography and portraits her personal life and experiences
have helped to develop and refine her skill set into what we
see today.
The last two years have played a huge part in shifting her
creative process into a unique style. Inspired by nature,
culture, architecture and motivated by colour and light her
latest works are a balancing on connection between these
influences.
Predominately abstract by design, structure, geometry and
organic shapes are seen in Lani's current series between
2021-2022 in pieces such as Moon Tracks 2020,
Iridescence 2021 and In Check 2022.
These works in majority are constructed with synthetic
polymers and gathered textural elements and require a
layering process she has developed over time. Lighting really
brings these pieces to life - creating a multi dimensional
effect and are beautifully interesting for the viewer.
Lani is currently working on a series of canvas based
artworks, she is also taking on commission work for mid -late
2022
