During the past two years I have created a series of paintings that evolved from my "Conservation paintings".
The "Conservation paintings" have to do w/ the interactions of color and their dynamic characteristics, or their interplay. These interactions play w/ the depth of space shifting foreground and background. Interaction or 'conversation between' the colors continues to interest me and is the primary focus of my most current series, Conversations between Blue and Red. My new paintings still deal w/ organic & botanical shapes but are now on (a) grid. These grid based are works w/ the same interest in the interaction of color and form. Although the forms are more simplified (and minimatistic) the resulting compositions are intricate and extremely energetic.
