Stanislav Ukraintsev

My work explores water as a psychological and emotional space rather than a landscape.
The human figure often appears dissolved, fragmented, or partially merged with its environment, reflecting states of memory, vulnerability, and inner movement.
I am interested in moments where form becomes unstable — where the body loses clear boundaries and turns into sensation. Water functions as a metaphor for transition, silence, and emotional depth. It is not a background, but an active presence that shapes the figure and the viewer’s perception.
Working between figuration and abstraction, I focus on atmosphere rather than narrative. My paintings invite slow observation and personal interpretation, allowing the viewer to project their own emotional experience into the image.
This body of work is part of an ongoing exploration of inner states that cannot be clearly defined, only felt.
