Beth Wyn

Beth Wyn is an Australian born artist currently living in Auckland, New Zealand.
She dabbles in abstract and portrait painting, both applied with an expressive painterly style. She enjoys experimenting with colour and shape, adding unnatural colours to the human form and shapes to test boundaries and draw the eye to the obscurity of the characters she aims to portray.
She primarily uses acrylic paint on stretched canvas, preferring the shortened drying time to oil so as to quickly layer up in a wet on wet method. Photographs are used often as a reference, and inspire the patterns and colours that evolve in her paintings.

In 2012 she graduated with a Bachelor of Design and Visual Arts degree, majoring in Visual Art at Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland. Since graduating, she has exhibited her 2012 collection in local galleries and art retailers in Auckland.
