We are an artist group called kaleidoscope from Japan. With all the phenomena of this world we exist in. It is a combination of various factors that will never be the same again. We express the accumulation of such phenomena in our art. We invite you to look into our art through the artist group Kaleidoscope. Place of birth and childhood: Saki Kaneko: Born in Tokyo. Raised in Kanagawa. (Japan) Born with the condition called synesthesia that blends five senses, she expresses sound, light, taste, touch, and smell in color waves. She explored her synesthesia through calligraphy, piano, painting, and cooking since childhood. As part of the search into her senses, she went to Paris to study and encountered many different cultures and values that made her reconsider how she expressed herself. She is now based in Japan and continuing to grow as an artist. Kazuomi Kitagawa: Born in Kyoto. Raised in Tokyo. (Japan) Growing up comfortably in a wealthy household until adolescence, it was his every day to consider about nature, science, philosophy, the way of the universe, and life and death. However, when he turned seventeen while studying abroad in Hawaii, his family was forced to leave their house because of his stepfather disappearing and his parents getting conned. He started a company to promote Japanese traditional culture when he was twenty. He was forced to resign the company when he was twenty-six because his share was taken away. At the age of twenty-seven, “considering” became his habit again, and using what he found during “consideration” as a concept, he began his challenge in the world of art.
