Born in 1989, Eydel and her parents emigrated to the U.S. in 1992, escaping the dangerous remnants of the Chernobyl disaster. For years, they struggled as immigrants just to get by, but always supported their daughter’s creativity. She has been exhibiting professionally since 2000 and is best known for her mixed media mosaic techniques: Glass Bead Mosaic and Butterfly Wing Mosaic., Eydel is always striving to grow as an artist by exploring and expanding her creative potential with different themes and materials.  The essence of Eydel’s new series of paintings is a simplified sophistication. Eydel takes her signature imagery of Glamorous Glass Bead Mosaics, lovingly monikered “Glamour Girls”, and expands it into larger-than-life proportions. Unlike the Glamour Girls, which focused mostly on the glass bead mosaic technique, the “Big Girls” showcase more painting: Eydel juxtaposes bold, almost color-blocked imagery, with subtleties of color and painted surface texture. Eydel aims to evoke a simplified sophistication with a more minimalist technique. Taking inspiration from Alex Katz, Tamara de Lempicka, and Gustav Klimt, her paintings resonate with energy from the contrast of flat, pattern-rich surfaces and boldness of imagery. The combination of her stylized tubular figure painting with the play of perspectives and shape-simplification evokes almost almost an Art Deco vibe. Eydel’s paintings echo a bygone era, and yet suggest modernity; they are simultaneously timeless and contemporary, playful and sophisticated, simple and yet lovingly detailed. “The feelings embodied in these women are what I aspire to be— relaxed, confident, at ease, and preferably on vacation. “ Eydel received her B.A. in Fine Art from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2011. Her pieces can be found in public collections around Florida and private collections all over the U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada, the U.K., Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Russia, Spain, Japan, and China.
