It seems as if memories resonate in these abstract, expressionist painting; as if we would recognize landscapes, flowers , people who dance through lively streets , silent sunlit places , swirling micro-particles escaping rigid patterns.
The main issue these paintings have in common is a strong sense of movement .
Power and energy seems to float through these images. They convey feelings of liveliness even in those paintings that prefer a more calm and quiet atmosphere.
Layer upon layer is placed on the canvas to slowly release an impression that can be described as the painterly equivalent of a "frozen moment in time". The liquid paint almost reminds us on blurred motion stills in photography and is set against the contrast of clear colourfields. Each new layer reveals new perspectives, to be partly covered and allow further points of view..
During this process each image develops its own concept.
