This work can be interpreted literally, or symbolically. Floating alone on a vast watery expanse - in the language of dreams water can symbolize emotions. Relaxed and lost in her thoughts, we almost feel the warm sunshine and the breeze on the water.

Janelle Schneider is a visual artist whose work centers on the theme of inter-connectedness. Primarily self-taught in painting, she has worked with oils and acrylics for most of her life. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Pacific Northwest College of Art and has maintained a dedicated studio practice alongside a 16-year career as a digital artist; first in the San Francisco Bay Area and now in the Pacific Northwest. Janelle’s creative journey explores relationship and connection, delving into the intersection of memory and emotion. Her acrylic works on canvas and wood are rich with narrative and resonance, inviting personal reflection. Her painting New Coat was featured in Studio Visit Magazine, Volume 52. She is also one of the contributing artists to The Science Tarot (2010), with fourteen original paintings for the Suit of Wands. In recent years, Janelle participated in Washington County Open Studios (2023 and 2024), continuing to engage with the local arts community. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and art events throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as in the San Francisco Bay and Santa Monica areas, and is held in private collections internationally.
