Nicolas Baudouin

Visual artist originally from Canada but living in Paris since 1986, I have been involved for a few years in studying the mutations that are now taking place related to the new practices of photography and the raise of what I would call “post-photography”.

The digital technology and the growing success of social networks have changed radically the nature of photography practices and the definition itself of what is a photographic image.
I am searching and exploring those new practices looking for a new image that would have this intermediate quality in being between virtuality and reality. Producing post-photography images of my travels around the world without leaving home but using Google street view or stealing portraits of passengers in the Parisian metro using my smartphone (Forbidden caresses) I never stop to explore and experiment what could be the future of photography related to those new practices.
