Hello! My name is Igor Yesin For me, photography is more than just a visual image—it is a dialogue with the viewer, a way to convey emotions, light, and the structure of the world through the lens. My journey began in childhood when I first witnessed the magic of film developing in a darkroom. My first camera, the Smena 8M, and my first enlarger, the Leningrad 6U, introduced me to the art of handcrafted prints. This experience forever shaped my creative path. In the early 2000s, I consciously returned to photography, working with 35mm and medium format 6x6 film. I pursued both personal and commercial projects, but over time, artistic photography became my true passion. Later, I transitioned to digital photography while preserving the depth and aesthetics of the film era in my work. A major milestone in my career was founding White Wall Studio in Kharkiv—a space where I not only created my own work but also shared my knowledge. After a year of intensive preparation, mastering the intricacies of studio lighting, and deeply immersing myself in gaffer techniques, the studio became a place where new photographers were shaped. More than 100 students from around the world have studied with me, learning the art of light and composition. Today, I continue my journey, creating images infused with emotion, movement, and a delicate interplay of light and form. Each photograph tells a story, captured in highlights and shadows, balancing clean lines, rich textures, and profound depth.
