Suzette Huwae:

She was born and raised in the Netherlands. Growing up in a Dutch society with her Moluccan roots made her fully aware of her multicultural background.
Now based in London she enjoys every aspect of the vibrant city life and is fully inspired by all the glamorous, colourful and strong women of all cultures, around the world.
Suzette’s style can be described as glamour with an edge.
Art Influences: Andy Warhol, Marlene Dumas, Jasper Johns, Anselm Kiefer Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami.

Suzette is inspired by slick glossy glamorous magazines, fashion designers, furniture, big cities, fashion items
In her work she is looking for that balance of glamour and rawness. As its not all glam in reality.
She is looking for contrasts. Expressive thick bold painting strokes against delicate thin charcoal lines..subtle glitter bits. Different techniques are used in her work, like spray paint, acrylics, glitters, charcoal, drops and splashes, gold and silver leaves or even Swarovski Crystals.
These elements can be found in her unique artwork.

Suzette graduated on a 1st BA teachers Degree with honors on Drawing & Painting at HKU -
Art Academy Utrecht, Holland.

But she never had the urge to stand in front of a class.:p

She has had a MasterClass in Amsterdam, Holland
of Sam Drukker a contemporary Artist in Oil Painting.
