Strachan has been working primarily with oil, yet also loves exploring the mediums of gouache and water colour, using his own unique techniques that elevate his compositions. Inspired by Monet, Bonnard, Gauguin, and graphic novel artists such as Mike Mignola and Darwin Cooke, Strachan’s distinctive portrayal of figures in everyday settings are brought to life using expressive brushstrokes and bold colors.
