Katya enjoys creating paintings that people can connect to. She paints in acrylics on canvas and canvas paper and loves rich bold colours.
The paintings are energetic, honest pieces that viewers can enjoy hanging on their walls at home. To be hung in someone’s home is a privilege, something she finds a lot of satisfaction in.
Inspiration comes from her travels, nature, people and universe.
Growing up in Europe, lived in Africa 16 years, she has always had a deep love and appreciation of landscapes and nature.
You may recognise images of places in Europe, Africa and her new home country, Australia.
Or you might just see her emotions into paintings where the woman’s figure is presented.
She tries to capture the beauty of every moment and she puts all her heart in what she paints.
Always an art lover she began painting later in life. Primarily self-taught she admires and is influenced by other artists such as Claude Monet, Vladimir Dimitrov-Maystora, Bob Ross, Leonid Afremov.
One of her favourite quotes is: “I am realistic - I expect miracles!”
