Nicolas Viorne, a contemporary painter based in the Paris region, transcends the boundary between abstraction and figuration through a bold palette and vibrant forms. Trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d’Art in Paris, he explores introspective themes by playing with light and texture. His works, where human silhouettes and organic shapes seem in perpetual transformation, exude a unique emotional atmosphere. Through acrylic technique, Viorne infuses his canvases with tactile intensity, where light seems to emanate from the figures themselves, creating an almost supernatural impression. His compositions, steeped in mystery and contemplation, invite an intimate reflection on identity, the passage of time, and our relationship to the world. Inspired by great masters – from Van Gogh to Rothko, from Rembrandt to Basquiat – he pursues an artistic quest where the expressiveness of color and the freedom of gesture capture the moment of an emotion. Each canvas is a window into a dreamlike elsewhere, an inner journey where dream and reality intertwine.
