I want to show how it feels! Each of the unique design elements I create within my images are words forming a larger sentence about the work. Photography carries with it an immediacy about stopping time in the now. But I want my work to be time-travelers, evoking past cultural references, and then pointing to a new visual message with all the elements in tow.
All my work is photography and begins with a non-manipulated print. While out shooting I am very focused on composition. Once I select an image to work on further, I ascertain the feeling and reference points already inherent in the subject matter. Next I begin to create and layer design elements which illuminate and highlight the feelings evoked by the image. Each finished piece typically goes through 40-90 iterations. Once completed it is printed on professional grade, archival photographic paper.
