I was born in Mauritius.
Now I live in France.
Nail varnish painting is my speciality.
I have for a long time expressed myself with oil paint, gouache or indian ink, but nail varnish has become my favourite material. It symbolizes both feminity and freedom. In the whole world, not all women have the possibility to adorn themselves with it, for discriminatory reasons of customs and constraints.
Thus, by working with this material, I denounce injustice, racism, the denial of the rights of man, woman and child, and above all, the indiffrence shown by nations who do not feel concerned about this misery.
I was born in Mauritius at a time of hard economic conditions. Destitution was rife and my family was very poor. When I was a child, every single day was a struggle against hunger and the scorn of those spared by that scourge.
That ordeal has opened my eyes on the fragility of life.
That is why my works convey my visions of a world where every thing would be fleeting, feelings as well as life, as fragile as an autumn leaf falls off the tree.
Now, I work with painting acrylic and nail varnish to explain the necessity to build a better world.
