Anne Wong

Born in 1960 in Sarawak, Malaysia, Anne Koh creates a captivating fusion of abstract expressionism and evocative impressionism. Her art reflects a deeply personal journey shaped by life experiences, extensive travels, and profound love for nature.

Anne's floral and landscape series are inspired by the tranquil beauty of her garden, while her orchestra series captures the dynamic vitality of live classical concerts. She is particularly moved by the expressive movements of conductors and the music of her twin nephews, who play the cello. Anne has also developed a series of striking monochromatic black-and-white works, where the raw energy of nature, particularly the African safari, is captured in dramatic contrast and intricate detail. These works serve as a study in form, shadow, and texture, exploring the intensity and rhythm of the wild through the interplay of light and dark.

Recently, Anne transitioned from her monochromatic safari-inspired pieces into vibrant, colourful interpretations of the same themes.
