ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Candlelights heal us. It is also the light of hope. I have been making this series since the last year of the 20th century. This series is popular in my one-man show. In producing this work, I keep "black as a color" in mind. To make this series, first draw an outline on thin Japanese paper with black ink, and then transfer it to a film. At the same time, another process is to collage my self- painted paper on top of Arches paper. Finally, those parts are set together. The film is smaller than the underlying paper because of its layering and framing. The original artwork in the frame is fantastic and floating. The finished original work is only this size to maintain its delicacy. If you need a larger size, select the printed matter that is displayed on a separate page. The signature of the original work can be found on the back or bottom right of the front of the work of art. The digital signature text of each photo, except the signature photo, is not in the original work. It will take about a week for the frame to be ready and to start shipping due to Covid19. If you do not need the frame, please let us know before you purchase. From 23 onwards of the candle series, the image size of the work has expanded, the forehead itself has also increased, and the frame has been made with a thicker acrylic material, making it even better. Please note that this has increased the price of the work. The breakdown is the amount of the amount itself, the larger and thicker acrylic board fee for floating the film and the fee for the framer to process it, the two round-trip transportation fee for the frame request, the packing material fee for shipping the work. In addition, the amount includes all of the production material cost of the work, the production time fee of the artist myself, and the shipping fee. This work with the frame can be ship immediately and each dimension of the frame is 14.4" x 17.3" x 1". Thank you very much for reading.

I'm not thinking about becoming a minimalist, I'm thinking about how to tell a story in a limited elements. I often inspired by the things around us, nature and music. In creating of forms, the nature told me a lot of things. And in color, I am particular about black and white as colors, and another colors are appearing, too. I think each human life is not easy, so if viewers can be played in a different world, then I am happy. For me, creation is a place to live. Kyo-Yuzen is one of the traditional and artistic Japanese dyeing methods. I was born and raised in the Kyo-yuzen family in Kyoto, Japan. Also my relatives were nearby, and many of them worked for Kyo-yuzen. I thought that "human beings draw pictures" in my child hood. There are many traditional and modern museums near my home and visited there well. Also I love children's picture books, Western animations and dramas on TV, and Manga, too. So many cultural feelings penetrated me, and I would like to fuse them to create artworks naturally. My career is started as a textile designer for Paris and NY haute couture in the textile design company and next entered a German textile designer's studio as the same occupation. After that as a freelance, I set up own studio in Aoyama, Tokyo, created many illustrations and artworks. Creating artworks and held many solo and selected group exhibitions in inland and overseas since then.
