Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I’ve been a photographer since childhood, capturing scenes and expressions long before I even owned a camera. Portraits are my passion—I love capturing the essence and personality of each person in a single click. My career began at Veja Magazine (1989), followed by Jornal do Brasil (1990-1993), where I photographed for all editorial sections, especially the Sunday Magazine. In 1993, I joined Caras Magazine from its inception, working as a photographer and photo editor in Rio de Janeiro until 2004. During this time, I coordinated photography teams and covered major events such as Carnival, Ilha de Caras, and international assignments in around 40 countries. In 2006, I became the Photo Editor at Contigo Magazine, where I spent seven years photographing, editing, and leading the Rio photography team. Since 2004, I’ve been working as a freelancer, exploring different projects but always staying true to what I love most—capturing life’s moments. I’ve been living in Lisbon since 2019, and you can easily find me here.
