Axel Schäffler

I am an artist from Hamburg, Germany. For about 40 years, I have been engaging with painting, photography, video, and installations. Childhood memories, fairy tale fantasies, fears, and joys shape my artistic works.
I studied under Sigmar Polke and Ernst Mitzka during my time at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg, from 1975 to 1983.
