Amy Buckler

Amy E. Buckler (b. 1989, Killeen, TX) received her BFA in drawing from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her work is abstract focusing on the interaction of color, material and shapes. Her paintings often reflect her memories as a child and from her new experiences. Most of her childhood experiences come from growing up on a dairy farm in Maryland. She traveled to Nepal last summer and had a number of studio visits, Artist lectures, and painting workshops. In Nepal she realized
the impact of natural color and now finds instances in Maryland where color unites
harmoniously. Also in Nepal she had a group exhibition called Yogdan which she
helped organize and publicize at Fusion Gallery. Her plans after graduation is to apply for Fulbright
and study Thangka Paintings in Nepal.
