My name is Ashley Long and I am currently a student at Seton Hill University in Greensburg Pennslyvannia.


Artist Statement
Art is who I am, and how I came to be. I believe I do not look at the world the same as anyone else. I do not produce art about a specific unifying subject that I am completely aware of. Art is something that helps me understand the world, and without out it I would have no meaning. It is how I survive and communicate in this strange world.
I often draw on random things that are available to me at the time. Sometimes they are developed into more in-depth ideas and detailed images. For most of my art it is about how I comprehend life, what I am feeling at the time, and it helps me arrange my thoughts together to make sense of it all.
The reason why I want to teach art is because it was the only thing that ever gave me hope, and never let me down. I want to teach children that there are other ways to express their genius inside them. I believe it is my goal to help children find themselves, and challenge them with creative problem solving strategies.
