I am an artist who works with tiny pieces of glass which I weave, loom, knit, and embroider with needle and thread. My work ranges from small scale jewelry items to one of a kind, exhibit pieces. While beads can be exquisite as a medium for jewelry, they possess a greater power for telling a story or expressing an idea. Vary the size or direction of the beads and one creates a landscape; vary the orientation of beads and one creates three dimensional works. Shine light through beads and you have one effect; shine light on beads and you have another. It is not enough to know the medium, but to use these characteristics to signify more than what is visually present - and this is what I strive for in my work.
Two Masters of Science degrees; Post Graduate education: Courses in Metalsmithing at Revere Academy; Humorous Beadwork with Joyce Scott.
