Jan Bonawentura Ostrowski

Jan Ostrowski was born in Czestochowa, Poland, but spent most of his life in Warsaw where he obtained his degree from the sculpture department at the Arts Academy under the direction of Professor Tadeusz Lodzian. He also studied at the Academia di Belle Arte Brera under the direction of Professor Giorgio de Giorgii.

In the technological world full of violence, people, as never before, long for the world of whimsy, the dreamlife fantasy of the fairy tale. My paintings depict just that world. They are full of serenity and harmony. Magical subjects, full of inner warmth and calm, are suspended in time. This strange and fantastic environment is suffused with yellows and reds, thus adding to the warmth of the paintings.
The music of the cosmos that envelops that universe, the brilliance of the light within, and the very space itself provides the finishing touches to that other ream which we intuitively seek and perceive.
