Brent Hermsmeyer

I was born in, and currently live in Northern California among the Oaks and rolling hills. After receiving a Bachelors degree from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, I moved back to Sonoma County where I have been working and painting ever since. landscape painting inspired by the beauty and wild of Northern California has always been a central theme of my artwork.

One day I picked up a beginner Chinese art set, and from then on immediately immersed myself in the application and study of eastern arts. Along with my developing practice of Buddhism, the style and philosophies of Oriental art aroused great interest in me because it sought to express something deeper and more spiritual than western arts seemed to do.

My best art springs for the quiet and calm heart, spontaneous, and without reservation. So I hope the work brings you inspiration and joy as much as the act of creating brings to me, and that it offers some purpose for you.
