Carla Sutera Sardo is an Italian photographer and visual artist based in Sicily. Her work explores the relationship between body, identity, and space, moving between reality and abstraction. Through suspended, dreamlike images and soft, evocative atmospheres, she investigates themes of absence, memory, and the transformation of the human body into form and color.
Often deprived of clear identifying features, her figures become anonymous presences that dialogue with architecture and landscape, generating a subtle tension between presence and disappearance, control and vulnerability. Her visual language is minimal and poetic, characterized by a careful use of light, color, and composition.
Carla Sutera Sardo’s work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in Italy and internationally and has been featured in several photography magazines and platforms. Her practice reflects a personal and intuitive approach to photography, where the image functions as a space of perception rather than narration.
