Dymphna Lonergan

I have always had the urge to paint and draw. For a long time after attending art college I followed a different path, but now I am happily painting again. I usually develop an emotional connection with my work, the pieces I feel most satisfied with are those where I have managed to express an emotion or sentiment. I mostly paint abstracts, landscapes and seascapes, and I really like using texture to emphasise parts of my composition. I hope you enjoy my work.

I went to Loughborough College of Art and Design from 1990 to 1994, I gained a degree in Textile design. I had a great time and learnt a lot about life, but the experience left me lacking in confidence about my ability to create so I abandoned art for 10 years and took a very different path.

I have recently exhibited locally and sold well. My next exhibition will be next spring in St Leonards on Sea.
