Artist Bio
Helen Rowland Carter a practicing visual artist born in Wales completed a B. A. with honours in 3D Design at University of Wales Cardiff before emigrating to Australia in 1992.Helens’ art practice has covered an extensive range of disciplines including sculpture (Henry More Sculpture Studio London) ceramics, silver, gold smithing (Barbra Christie Morley collage London) metal fabrication, mixed mediums, drawing and painting. In 1998 Helen completed a Master of Arts (Visual/Performing Arts and Critical Theory) at C.S.U Wagga Wagga. Helen has been a Tertiary Arts Educator for nineteen years and Gallery Curator for 4 years as well as continuing her own art practice and exhibiting regularly. Helen has received several grants for Community Art Projects and was Artist in Residence at the Kosovar Refugee Camp. Currently residing in Wodonga Australia Helen is spending four months of the year in Langkawi Malaysia working on her current art project.
