Irene Watson

I studied a BA Hons in Painting and then an M.Phil in Public Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. Following numerous large scale commissions in hospitals and prisons, I received a scholarship to New Zealand to study, upon which I was invited to be an art lecturer in painting at Unitec, one of Auckland's degree courses in Art. I lectured and exhibited in New Zealand for several years and then returned to Scotland and taught at various colleges until I opened an artspace in Perth. For ten years I have exhibited within the artspace and completed films with the community.
I have exhibited in solo shows and selected shows, notably at LINLEY in London and the Scottish Royal Academy. My work has been featured in WALLPAPER and in various newspaper articles.
