Linda Halsey

Linda Halsey was born in Ventura, California in 1981. While from an early age she always had an inclination toward creative activities such as music and ballet dancing, she didn’t start experimenting with art until adulthood. During recovery from an injury, she took up oil painting , graphite and charcoal as a hobby, and her involvement in art has grown ever since. Presently she works primarily in the mediums of oil and acrylic painting, but also produces digital paintings, and mixed media illustrations including other materials such as watercolor and colored pencil. Her work is inspired by the popsurrealism movement, featuring emotionally infused dream worlds and daydreaming, zoned out, or sometimes apathetic characters. She is a self-taught artist who describes her own methods of artistic training as “a never-ending cycle of research, experimentation, and lots of practice.” She has shown work at The Spot Gallery, La Bodega Gallery, and Thumbprint Gallery II in San Diego, CA, and has worked with artist teams such as The Infusion Project and FIGMENT San Diego. She currently works and resides in the greater San Diego area.
