Luisa Betancourt

(1945 - ) I was born in Caracas Venezuela. I work with digital photography, digital images, and prints in giclee, acrylic paintings, assemblages, and installations.
Currently, I am living in Aruba island and my work has been influenced by my underwater photography.

I studied art in Maracaibo Venezuela and in 1990 received a Fulbright Scholarship to further study a Master of Fine Arts degree in Washington State University (1992)
I have been an art theory teacher in higher art education with emphasis in contemporary art. I founded the Centro Multidisciplinario de Arte Contemporaneo in Valencia Ven. (1999-2010)

I have exhibited solo shows intensely since 1983. The last two solo shows were in 2008 and 2014, both at the Maracaibo Art Center LiaBermudez Museum.
I have been in group shows since 1985 nationally and internationally
