Lauran Van Oers

I am born in 1963 in Tilburg, the Netherlands. I am working parttime as an environmental scientist and parttime as an artist. After taking up a brush or pencil it is difficult to stop. My work of art, both figurative and abstract, is always inspired by the visual reality. I try to find my own way in expressing conventional artistic topics, like the nude, the portrait and nature. I like to think about my paintings as individuals that grow due to antagonistic forces of creation and destruction, like the evolution of organisms in nature.
