Evgeny Maystrenko

I was born in the city of Novosibirsk. Finished the State Architecture and Arts Academy in 2002. Specialty: architect-designer. The same year became a post-graduate student in sociology of management in Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management. Worked as designer, architect. My wild lifequest brought me from Siberia thru Moscow to Tallinn. At the same time: from ignorance to enlightenment. Of course, not in absolute terms.

I am started to draw professionally while studying in Architectural Academy. Spanish series of graphic works, made during creative journeys to Spain (1996-1998), was exhibited in Central House of Artists (Moscow) in 1996 and 1999, where it was given a high appraisal by art critics and numerous responses from public. That gave me the first impulse for starting professional work with graphic. In October 1999 the first personal exhibition took place in Architectural Academy, where the works made in difficult and time-consuming technique - pastel were presented. Though pastel is a graphic material many opinins noticed that landscapes and still lives work of mine are quite close to painting.
