Martina Rathgens

I was born in Germany. After school I learned the profession of a classical photographer(analog) worked for industrial, commercial and fashion studios and started a career as a freelance photographer in 1985, the same year in which I moved to Italy. Since 5 years I switched to digital photography and als started working as a digital artist. I am now specialist in fine art landscape and nature photography, as well as digital painting.I feel inspired by the beauty of nature and prefer to shoot land and seascapes, animals and macro photography, as the last one reveils a whole new and exiting world to us.In my landscape photography I try to express the feelings I had in the moment the picture was taken and I am happy if a viewer is touched by their beauty and can feel through my art work what I felt when I created it.
At the beginning of 2011 I moved to Essaouira, a small town on Morocco´s Atlantic coast.

After finishing high schol at the age of 18 I started working for a portrait photo studio follwed by some years in commercial and fashion studios as well as 2 years as an industrial photographer.,
