I am a freelance artist working as a painter and draughts-woman. Since graduating with a BA in ‘Fine Art Painting’ and an MA in ‘Art and Science’ I have been working on commission and pursuing digital art.

Drawing has been my main art activity for at least the last 5 years, during which I have experimented with different techniques and subjects, including abstract patterns, marine organisms, botanical specimen, portraiture and life drawing.

I enjoy creating using a range of materials and techniques, notably drawing and painting. This includes working with traditional and new media, including macro photography concentrating on portraiture, landscape and natural forms. I am currently developing pieces which combine traditional drawing with digital imagery, including working with Photoshop.

Subjects

My inspiration often comes from the outside, rural environment. Whenever I have the opportunity of exploring botanical gardens and natural environments, I make sketches, paintings and take photographs that focus on natural forms and patterns. I regularly use these observations as a basis for creating my own artistic images. This reflects my interest and recent MA combining Art with Science.

Education

I completed a BA in Fine Art Painting and an MA in Art and Science, both of which helped me in refining my drawing skills, developing an eye for details and a critical mind-set. I have also achieved an A level in Film Studies, which has given me an understanding of mise-en-scene and helped with some of my recent work on fantasy art that involved creating imaginary settings.
