Anna Mihalkova

Anna Mihalkova studied at the prestigious Art & Design Academy in St. Petersburg. In 2001 she graduated cum laude as "textile designer". For her graduation she received a grant (best project award of the year) by the Mayor of St. Petersburg. During her studies Anna restored ancient frescoes in a cathedral in Novgorod. After her education in St. Petersburg Anna continued studying more specifically in modern art and ceramics in Bornholm (Denmark).

Since 2002 Anna lives in The Netherlands, where she works as a designer at a design agency. She is also very active in her own studio as a painter.

Dynamics, rhythm and tonality characterize her work. Anna paints intuitively and experimentally to a sometimes realistic, but often a more abstract result. She combines freely paint colors and textures, relief structures, fabrics and other materials. Her artistic range is broad and diverse
