Nicola J Haigh

Born 1954, Birmingham England. Silk batik, watercolour, textiles and combinations of these on canvas, silk and paper. My work is primarily based on nature. I am fascinated by the colours and textures in nature. I try to capture the simplicity of a single moment of reflection and the vividness within it. Beginning with photography and drawing I create my work using combinations of watercolour, batik and fabrics. I also make silk batik scarves, fabric brooches and fascinators. I exhibit in Ludlow, Hereford and my local area, as well as running short courses in watercolours, silk painting, batik and textiles from my studio just outside Ludlow. My recent work involves stitch with watercolour.
