Joseph Scerri

Joseph Scerri was born in Floriana (Malta) in 1953. He studied art with Artist Mr Toni Pace (the late) and was coached in graphic design by his late father Saviour. After a number of years working as a graphic artist with leading firms in Malta, he emigrated to Toronto (Canada) in 1983 where he specialised in the design of corporate graphics with the design house - Rous Mann & Brigdens (at some moment in time, this Firm had members of the famous Canadian Group of Seven Artists in its employment). He returned to his native Malta in 1987. Besides being a Gaphic Designer, Joseph is an illustrator and Period Ship scratch Model builder.
As art director/designer, Joseph has received recognition from design competitions including Toronto Art Directors's Club - 1985, Art Direction Magazine, USA - 1986, Typographical Excellence Awards, USA - 1985, Printing Industries of America Inc. - 1986, Malta Advertising Awards, 1st - 1994, ACI European Airports Publication Design Awards, 1st - 1995 and 2nd - 1997.
