Renee Ortiz

I am a landscape and figurative painter, who enjoys conversing in paint using a plethora of medium, with a particular fondness for encaustic, cold wax, and pastel. I am constantly drawn to the sea, which acts as my main source of inspiration. I am currently obsessed with how the figure and landscape interact, pushing the limits of figure in space, and giving equal weight to both. My work accentuates the variety of colors present in nature that often escape our notice. I have faithfully completed a painting a day for the past six years, with no misses.
