Robert B Schoolar

Born in Ft Worth Texas in 1957, Robert is a manufacturing engineer who has always had a raw undeveloped talent for art. After decades in Industry he has decided to explore and cultivate this talent.

I consider myself a Realist. I am interested in the figure as a subject. I am intrigued by the imperfections in the human form that make us unique; that provide us with our physical identities. How do these physical attributes provide more information than just the superficial? How are attributes of personality, intelligence, compassion or detachment communicated through our physical images?

I find the process of creating art extremely stimulating. It is a constant push and pull. A conflict between the orderliness and empirical confidence of outcome that my engineering background has ingrained in me, and the desire to break free of those constraints and embrace a more open ended creative experience.
