Matthew Albert Miles

My mother told me a story that I was doing a drawing when I was about 5 years old & her friends told me how talented and smart I was! I think that was when I decided to become an artist, l liked the attention. Also that I love pictures, images, visuals, all kinds, beauty is very important, color, textures ! I'm just crazy about art, it is my life. I have been painting & drawing all my life and making a living at it for at least 40 years.

I was educated while in the US Army during WWII, and later served in both theater's of war as a combat infantry soldier. While serving as occupation troops I lived in Japan for almost a year. I was fascinated by their culture, it influenced my art in many ways. I also attended Ursinus College In Pennsylvania. Then went to NYC as young man and studied at the Art Students League for many years with Frank J. Riley.
