ABOUT
EDUCATION

I began painting in 1975 but found myself unable to convey complex ideas with paint. By 1995, I began exclusively to use a computer and 3d applications for art. I was born in 1949 in the state of Ohio.Tom Repasky is a pioneer in digital fine art with a surrealist orientation. He has been producing works of intricate detail and thought provoking composition since 1995. Originally from Ohio he spent most of his life on the west coast where he carved a career in the first wave of information technology and super computers. He now resides in Pennsylvania. He derives inspiration for his art from the interplay of words, perceptions and the visual poetry of thematic juxtapositions. His images are an outpouring of his unique view of the Universe Within. His art has been in several galleries recently. Most were juried shows around a theme or medium. These include: Kingstad Gallery (Beaverton Oregon), Rake Gallery (Portland Oregon), Blackfish Gallery (Portland Oregon), MacWorthington Gallery (Columbus Ohio)His strengths are in expressing thoughtful ideas and their impact on perception. He gets inspired by most everything. During the past 13 years, he has created more than 3,000 pieces.

I am a self taught artist, musician, animator and writer. During 2008, Portland, Oregon * BlackFish Gallery * Kingstad Gallery * Rake Gallery (closed) * First Thursday Aftermath * Short Attention Span Theater1995-2003When I began to pursue showing my digital work, most galleries were reluctant to consider the medium as relevant. The cost of producing a high resolution, archival print was and still is very expensive. These issues made public showings at established galleries difficult. However, I did have several showings in Portland. * Mount Hood Community College, juried digital show * Raindance Gallery * Belinki and DuPree * Borders Book Store * Cedar Hills Plaza * Rose Festival * Art in the Park,
