Kirsty Joanna Doig’s dedication to her art has proven to be hugely successful, exhibiting her works both nationally and internationally since her degree in Ceramic Sculpture & Design in 2000 at Duncan of Jordonstone, Dundee.
Kirsty’s work often displays an anthropomorphic narrative, subtlety crossing the boundaries of human and animal forms to demonstrate that we connect on many different levels, expressing that ‘it is our physical embodiment, our environment, our culture & life experiences which shape us and make us be who we are’. Her work has an expressive and surreal style to it, demonstrating that both
Man and animals are not worlds apart, but very much interconnected. Her latest works are large ceramic individual hares, horse, rams, bulls busts, foxes and dogs. Kirsty works in the Angus glens, soaking up the nature and drawing inspirational and energy while she works. Her works often display a variety of bronze patina finishes which are one of Kirsty’s signatures.
Commissions can be finished in various bronze finishes, including the lost wax and cold cast methods, as well as ceramic finishes.
