ABOUT:
I am continually inspired by exploring far-reaching sites around our planet. My objects or artifacts, serve as personal/collective markers of our mortal position in the scheme of things. Independent study traveling within six continents has enabled me to deepen my understanding of language and vestiges of universal expressions and modes of communication, - particularly archetypes or symbols that offer deep-rooted meaning across time and culture. Discovery and recovery in the form of aesthetic data with signification allows the maker in me to articulate works of art inspired by the multiplicity of human experience and representation.

BIO:
Claudia Flynn is a Rhode Island based contemporary artist and writer. Her work has been exhibited in museums, galleries, and educational foundations, stateside and abroad. Her travels include global exploration, most recently in Egypt. She has received grants in support of her work from the New England Foundation for the Arts, Rhode Island Council on the Arts, and the North Kingstown Arts Council.
