Valeria Barbas

Valeria Barbas, (born 1984) is mixed media artist, based in Chişinău, Republic of Moldova.
Field(s) of work: contemporary visual art and music, painting, performance, mixt media, installation, performace, video art, documentary film.

She studied for a B.A.(2001-2006) and a M.A.(2006-2008) in composition, Academy of Music, Theatre and Art, Chişinău, R. Moldova, Electronic music courses with M. Afanasiev (2005-2006). In 2004-2008 she also studied for a BA in painting, State Pedagogical University „I. Creangă”. Lecturer at Academy of Music, Theatre and Art, R. Moldova (2014-2015).Currently, she is a researcher at the Institute of Cultural Patrimony, Academy of Sciences, RM. V.Barbas is a member of the Moldovan Union of Composers and Musicologists, Moldovan Union of Painters, Moldovan Association of woman in cinematography. 2017 – PhD in study of art and culturology. 2018- Author of a book dedicated to new music in Republic of Moldova (1991-2018).
Collaborates with KSAK-Contemporary Art Center, Oberliht Young Artists Association.

2019-2020 recent painting group exhibition/art camp - in Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Egypt, Greece, India.
2020, march - participation with 4 canvases at International group exhibition in Jawahar Kala Kendra Center of Contemporary Art, Jaipur, India
